Inaugural Communic Indonesia and Broadcast Indonesia concludes with applause from local ICT and media industry

Jakarta 2016 – Indonesia’s ICT and media industry gathered at the Jakarta International Expo over the last four days to attend the inaugural edition of Communic Indonesia and Broadcast Indonesia. The event, that included the Indonesia ICT Summit, saw a total more than 7500 attendees from industry professionals to government leaders discuss and debate issues and strategies critical to the development of the country’s digital landscape, as well as learn about and source for the latest technologies from a showcase of international suppliers and service providers.

“We are proud to be part of Indonesia’s journey towards a digitally transformed economy. Communic Indonesia and Broadcast Indonesia aims to be not just a knowledge-sharing platform, but also an international marketplace and gateway to business opportunities in Indonesia. We hope to continue to build upon the digital supply chain and knowledge base in Indonesia, to help lift local business capabilities and develop a robust and sustainable digital Indonesia,” says Mr Ben Wong, President Director of organiser PT. Pamerindo Indonesia.

Industry business leaders lauded the launch of Communic Indonesia and Broadcast Indonesia as a push to educate, and provide the knowledge and technology to help shape Indonesia’s digital era.

Communic Indonesia speaker, Michael Lints, Venture Partner, Golden Gate Ventures who spoke about Evaluating the E-Commerce Investment Options and Opportunities in Indonesia, says, “I would definitely visit Indonesia ICT Summit again next year. The wide range of subjects, expert views and combination of local and international speakers was very attractive.”

Similarly, Shieila Tiwan CEO of Carsurin, one of Indonesia’s largest marine surveying company, says, “I was asked by my partner in Singapore to attended the show and I am glad to see so many ICT solutions that I can apply to my business.”

Exhibitors too welcomed the staging of Communic Indonesia and Broadcast Indonesia as a much needed avenue for international entry into Indonesia’s ICT and media industry.

“Communic Indonesia provided us a very good platform to enter the Indonesian market. Most of our members met potential buyers here and are satisfied with the exhibition. We looking forward to participating next year,” says Karen Tsai, its Project Manager of Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association, coordinator of the Taiwan pavillion.

Echoing her sentiments, Fintan Mc Kiernan, Chief Executive Officer, Ideal Systems SEA says, “Broadcasting in Indonesia is becoming more sophisticated and is doing so very quickly, this is driven by local competition and a growing middle class to consume content and react to advertising. Thus it has never been more relevant to have a well-structured broadcast technology exhibition locally complete with international calibre seminars and conferences. Ideal Systems are proud to have been part of the inaugural Broadcast Indonesia and look forward to a bigger and better show next year.”

Communic Indonesia and Broadcast Indonesia is staged in co-operation with Singapore Exhibition Services – organiser of the hugely successful annual CommunicAsia and BroadcastAsia in Singapore. The next edition of the event will be held on 25 to 27 October 2017 at the JlExpo in Jakarta, Indonesia.
