Singapore Exhibition Services Appoints New Chief Executive
Singapore, 4 November 2014 – Lindy Wee, Singapore Exhibition Services’s Deputy Chief Executive, will succeed Stephen Tan as Chief Executive effective 1 January 2015. Stephen, who joined the company as Joint Deputy CEO in 1984 and has been Chief Executive since 1989, will assume the role of Chairman.
With more than 30 years in the exhibitions field, Lindy has played a leading role in the development of Singapore Exhibition Services since she joined in 1983. She is the natural choice to build on the company’s strength in a new exciting era. From Project Management to Marketing Services, Conferences and Public Relations, the wealth of knowledge and skills she has amassed over thirty years have proved to be invaluable, not just to the company, but also to the Singapore MICE industry.
“Lindy has been integral to the growth and success of Singapore Exhibition Services. Her new appointment ensures continuity for the team in running one of Asia’s most respected organisers of trade events,” said Stephen Tan, Chief Executive, Singapore Exhibition Services.
Prior to July 2014, Lindy was Director of PR and Conferences where she forged a distinct stand-alone profit centre by delivering content rich programmes for conferences and seminars that attracted high quality audiences. CommunicAsia Summit 2014, the conference component of CommunicAsia, attracted a record 700 speakers and delegates. Additionally, Lindy has ensured the company’s portfolio of events garnered high ranking media coverage through intensive PR campaigns reaching far beyond Singapore and ASEAN.
“The support and backing I’ve received from Stephen and the staff is heartening. We have come a long way since 1976, and today we are proud owners of Asia’s three largest trade events for the Communications, Hospitality and Oil & Gas sectors. Looking forward, I am thrilled to play a vital role in continuing to grow Singapore Exhibition Services at a time when Asian markets are leading world growth in trade and investment opportunities.” said Lindy on her appointment.
